CDL Training Program

Requirements and Protocols for Program Acceptance

• Notification process for employees to provide managers (a required notification from the employee of his/her intentions).

• 1 Year of satisfactory employment with NFS (annual review would provide quality info on the employee’s character/capability).

• Ride-along program for 2 weeks minimum (work the full schedule with a driver trainer for the needed NFS position) prior to starting the training program.

• Candidates treated as “new employees” (go through interview, full background/MVR screening, drug screen/physical, PI assessment, and physical assessment screening).

• Set standard schedule for training once a candidate meets all qualifications, with a calendar set up for employees to view training openings/availability. Training schedule to be coordinated by Keith Bush/Don Barrett/David Eichermuller.

• Upon qualification and start of training, candidates will be assigned in system as reporting to Keith Bush and Don Barrett (same as any new hire Driver candidate).

• Training pay will be commensurate with all CDL trainees (internal program or new hires) $18.00 hourly.
